1877

John Maneely founds John Maneely Co., a Philadelphia-based distributor of pipe, valves and fittings.
1929
Sharon Tube is founded, and later becomes part of JMC Steel Group (2007).
1931

Wheatland Tube begins manufacturing pipe as a subsidiary of John Maneely Co.
1946
Picoma is founded as Pipe Coupling Mfrs. and later joins JMC Steel Group (2009).
1984
Atlas Tube is formed by Harry Zekelman.
1986
Alan, Barry and Clayton Zekelman assume ownership of Atlas Tube.
2006

JMC Steel Group is formed through the combination of John Maneely Co. and Atlas Tube.
2011
The Zekelman family acquires complete ownership of JMC Steel Group.
2016
JMC Steel Group changes its name to Zekelman Industries, unifying all operating divisions under the Zekelman name and preparing for the future.
Zekelman launches Z Modular, an innovative modular construction company.
2017

Zekelman acquires Western Tube, a leading manufacturer of electrical conduit, and adds galvanized fence framework and mechanical steel tubing to Western’s lineup.
Zekelman acquires American Tube, a leading producer of structural steel in the Southeast, and fully integrates it into Atlas Tube.
2018
Zekelman acquires Hayes Modular Group, expanding its presence in the modular construction industry.
2021
Atlas Tube acquires Shuriken™, simplifying field-bolted HSS connections.


2022
Atlas Tube opens the world’s largest ERW mill in Blytheville, Arkansas, the first North American facility to produce Jumbo Hollow Structural Sections.
Zekelman Industries opens the most advanced galvanized tube manufacturing facility in North America in Rochelle, Illinois.
Zekelman Industries acquires assets of EXLTUBE, fully integrating structural, mechanical and pipe production into Atlas Tube.
2023
Zekelman prepares for the future with a technology-forward vision for growth and a new logo.
2024
Zekelman enters a joint venture with Maverick Pipe to sell PVC conduit and other PVC products.
